Thank you for visiting the Tick Encounter Resource Center at the University of Rhode Island. We distinguish ourselves by providing you with information regarding ticks and tick-transmitted diseases, but also seek to interactively guide you through the most up-to-date, effective actions that you can take to prevent ticks from biting you, your family and your pets.
URI's Center For Vector-Borne Disease is a non-profit organization devoted to preventing insect- and arthropod-transmitted infections. To eliminate tick-borne disease in Rhode Island, we will implement our goals, and seek out those people and entities that will make a difference, and encourage them to do their part.
This site was built by a partnership between the University's Center for Vector Borne Disease and the 3D Group for Interactive Visualization. It is also is supported by several sponsors and donations from the surrounding community.
