IMUGEN, Inc. provides specialized testing for tick-borne diseases such as Lyme disease, Babesiosis, and Anaplasmosis. Accurate diagnosis of these increasingly common infections requires clinical experiences and excellent laboratory support. Complications may be severe if there is a misdiagnosis.

Ticks Tested by Imugen

IMUGEN provides PCR testing of these ticks to detect Lyme disease spirochetes and the parasite causing Babesiosis. Since only these ticks carry these agents, testing is only performed on Deer ticks.

Ticks NOT Tested by Imugen

Any ticks recevied and identified as being Dog ticks (Dermacentor variabilis) or Lone Star ticks (Amblyomma americanum) will not be tested unless specifically requested. Dog ticks and Lone Star ticks are retained for 14 days and then discarded.
