Additional Dog Walk DetailsWe Hate Ticks Too... Dog Walk!DATE: Saturday, June 7, 2008TIME: Check-in will begin promptly at 9:30am and the walk will begin at 10:00am.WALK: One (1) mile easy walk around the beautiful University of Rhode Island Campus. WHO: anyone!DOGS: Each walker may bring up to two dogs. All dogs must be leashed for the entire duration of the event and leashes may not be longer than 6 feet in length. Please provide proof that each dogs is licensed and current on all vaccinations (rabies and DHLPP). No aggressive behavior will be tolerated at the event. DETAILS: There will be two checkpoints for fresh water available along the 1 mile trail. Doggie waste bags will be provided for cleaning up after your dog. We ask that you be respectful of the campus and other participants and USE THEM!REGISTRATION: "Day of the event" registration will begin promptly at 9:30am. Pre-registration is strongly suggested. You can register online at www.tickencounter.org. Be sure to print out the sponsorship page and start collecting!SPONSORSHIPS: Please use the sponsorship page to begin collecting donations for the dog walk. Encourage your family, friends, neighbors, and co-workers to support Tick Control Awareness Day. All contributions must be turned in on the day of the event. GOODIE BAGS: "Goodie bags" will be available for all registered walkers.PRIZES: Prizes will be awarded to the top two walkers who raise the most in sponsorships. Anyone who raises more than $50 will receive an event t-shirt (while supplies last/ please, only one shirt per person)!The fun doesn't stop after the walk! There will be vendors and educational booths for summer health and wellness. We encourage you and your dog to walk around and learn more on how to protect yourself, your yard, and your pets. Tick Control Awareness Day runs from 9 AM-3 PM. |
